Contending For The Faith

About Me

Name: Lynda O

Location: Tennessee

Beliefs: Christian, Calvinist, Dispensational, and a Biblical Creationist. Above all I believe what the Bible teaches, rather than adhere to man-made systems of doctrine. Calvinist (or Reformed) and Dispensational are the names that describe what the Bible teaches and I believe.

I’m married, no children, and work full-time as a computer programmer. I write this blog as a part-time hobby as time permits, and so this blog reflects my interests, whatever I’m studying. Here I chronicle my thoughts from daily Bible reading (I follow a modified Horner Bible Reading plan of 12 chapters a day from different genres) as well as other items of interest. Lately I’ve been listening to John MacArthur’s Revelation series, S. Lewis Johnson’s eschatology series, and S. Lewis Johnson’s Genesis series. I also enjoy reading Spurgeon sermons and various Christian blogs.

  1. Nice blog site. Thanks again for the comment to mt S. Lewis Johnson post.
I am also an IT guy. Programming, Systems Analysis, Project Mgt, Business Analyst, been there, done that, still doing it. I see that you are from Tennessee. It is one of my favorite places on earth, besides Nebraska (where we currently live). I was born in Chattanooga, and I still bleed orange when cut. Go Vols!!

  2. Thanks for the note. Yes, Chattanooga is a nice place, where my spouse has some family and we visit sometimes. A few years ago we did a road trip through Nebraska, mainly central and western Nebraska sites, some great places to see such as “Pioneer Village.”
